Omar Abdulhak joined Hajduk Gibbs LLP as an articling student in May 2016 after earning his Juris Doctor at Bond University in Gold Coast, Queensland. Mr. Abdulhak is fluent in English and Arabic. During law school, Mr. Abdulhak volunteered with various student legal organizations such as the Canadian Law Students Association and the Gold Coast Community Legal Center & Advice Bureau Inc., a not-for-profit, nationally accredited Community Legal Centre that provides the Gold Coast community with legal advice, prototype and collaborative project work, community legal information, and general information and referrals.
Mr. Abdulhak was called to the bar in 2017 and remains with Hajduk Gibbs LLP as an Associate, practicing primarily in the areas of civil litigation, breach of fiduciary duty, collections, foreclosures, small claims in the Provincial Court, Wills, personal directives, enduring powers of attorney, family law, prenuptial and cohabitation agreements, shareholder disputes and commercial litigation, insurance litigation, and more. Mr. Abdulhak also handles some criminal offences and traffic violations.
Prior to obtaining his Juris Doctor, Mr. Abdulhak studied International Business and Chain Supply at Grant MacEwan University before earning his Bachelor of Business Accounting Major from the Northern Alberta Institution of Technology. During his full-time studies, Mr. Abdulhak was also a franchisee with Panago where he owned and operated his franchise in Edmonton, Alberta.
Mr. Abdulhak has appeared before the Provincial Court of Alberta, Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta and has assisted senior counsel with matters at the Court of Appeal of level. Mr. Abdulhak is a member of the Law Society of Alberta.
